Georeference ENVISAT

Use Georeference AATSR, Georeference ASAR, or Georeference MERIS to georeference ENVISAT AATSR, ASAR, or MERIS data with the geolocation information included in the ENVISAT file. ENVISAT imagery contains geolocation tie points that correspond to specific pixels in the image. These tie points can be used to automatically georeference the ENVISAT data without building a geometry file.

  1. Select one of the following menu options, depending on which type of ENVISAT imagery is being georeferenced:
    • Basic Tools  Preprocessing  Data-Specific Utilities  ENVISAT  Georeference AATSR, or Georeference ASAR, or Georeference MERIS
    •

    • Spectral  Preprocessing  Data-Specific Utilities  ENVISAT  Georeference AATSR, or Georeference ASAR, or Georeference MERIS
    •

    • Map  Georeference ENVISAT  Georeference AATSR, or Georeference ASAR, or Georeference MERIS.
    •

The Select ENVISAT File dialog appears.

  2. Use the Select ENVISAT File dialog to select the input data file and to perform any desired spatial and/or spectral subsetting. For subsetting details, see "Selecting a Spatial Subset" and Selecting a Spectral Subset. The Select Output Projection dialog appears.
  3.

  4. Select the desired output map projection from the list (see Selecting Map Projection Types for more information), enter any necessary parameters, then click OK. The Registration Parameters dialog appears.
  5.

  6. Select any necessary parameters (see Warping and Resampling for more information) then click OK to run the georeferencing process.

The Image Registration status window then displays the progress of this process. When it is complete, the Image Registration window closes and the georeferenced results appear in the Available Bands List.
